Chapter 5: Clone

PAD System Pattern Design provides Clone function for the users. This powerful technology makes the interdependence of the pieces possible and eliminates several stages in the pattern modification process, thus helping to increase your productivity.

Click menu [View] - [Clone View] to start to use this function.

Set Clone Pieces

Allow users to set plan clone or piece clone for different purposes.

How to set plan clone/piece clone

  1. Select the desired piece, click menu [Treatment] - [Set Piece...];

  2. Enter desired piece information, then select [Plan Clone] (or Piece Clone) item;

  3. The clone piece appears under Plan (or Pieces) in Piece List window.

or:

  1. Right-click the desired piece, the pull-down menu appears, click [Set Piece from Contour...];

  2. Enter desired piece information, then select [Plan Clone] (or Piece Clone) item;

  3. The clone piece appears under Plan (or Pieces) in Piece List window.

Create more than one Clone

Create more than one Clone generations: Master piece - the first generation Clone piece - the second generation Clone piece:

The clothes-like icon on the upper-right corner of the piece represents the relation of Clone generations. Different meanings of different icons are shown as follow:

Modify Clone Piece

User can set if require to modify the clone piece by selecting different items.

The Modification here includes modification of piece contour/internal segment , grading modification , seam allowance modification.

With selecting [Unlock], user can modify individual clone piece without influencing the master piece.

After modifying the individual clone piece, if the master piece or the previous generation clone piece was changed, the clone piece was also changed.

For example, only modify the second generation clone piece:

When the master piece or the previous generation clone piece is changed, this clone piece is also changed, and its former modification is saved:

With selecting [Editable from Master Only], users only can modify the desired clone piece by changing the master piece, not allow to change the desired clone piece directly.

With selecting [Editable from Master Only], user can’t modify the master piece or clone piece.
