A-Line Skirt

Steps

  1. Draw two rectangles with value of front / back H and skirt length.

    Select tool-rectangle, hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), left-click the desired area.

  2. Draw a parallel line (hip) 18cm from the waist line.

    Select waist line. Select parallel_line. Click inside the rectangle. Enter 18cm in the dialog box.

  3. Draw the waist point on the side seam. Draw the point 0.5cm down from the center line. Connect the points as picture shows.

    Select tool-point, hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), click Point A (B). Enter value.

    Select tool-curve, connect points as picture shows.

  4. Select waist line in front piece, change length value to 21.4cm; select waist line in back piece, change length value to 19.4cm. After modifying length, connect side seam.

    Select waist line. Select tool-segment-length. Select the center point, modify the length. Select tool-curve, connect side seam. Repeat the operation for the back piece.

  5. Draw the segment where the dart is located in the piece.

    The dart value in front piece is 21.4 - 19 = 2.4cm

    Front piece: Select waist line. Select tool-divide-segment to divide it into two parts. Select tool-segment, hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), draw a segment as dart center from Point A.

    The dart value in back piece is (19.4 - 15)/ 2 = 2.2cm

    Back piece: Select waist line. Select tool-point. Add a point 7+2.2 (dart value) / 2=8.1cm from the center line. Select tool-segment, hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), draw a line as dart center line from Point B.

    Select tool-divide-segment to divide it into two parts. Select tool-segment, draw a line as dart center line from Point B.

  6. Add 1.5 cm length to the hem. Connect side seam and the hem.

    Select tool-point, hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), left-click Point A (B). Enter value.

  7. Separate front and back piece. Mirror the front piece.

    Double click the red part of the front piece. A window appears. Enter information and click [OK]. Repeat it for the back piece.

    Select the center line. Select tool-mirror. Click the center line to mirror the piece.

  8. Develop a dart by using Dart tool.

    Select the center segment of the dart, select tool-dart, click the start point of the segment. Dialog appears. Enter value.

  9. Modify the segments by using Segment Sync tool.

    Select the red lines and dart. Select tool-segment-sync. Click Point A. After modifying the segments, right click once. Repeat the former operation for the back piece.

    Select the red segment. Select tool-segment-sync, click Point A then Point B. After modifying the segment, right click once. Repeat the operation for the hem line.

  10. Select tool-rectangle, hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), left-click the desired area, enter width value 38cm / 15cm /18 cm and height value 3cm to draw three rectangles.

  11. Set pattern piece.

    Right-click inside the piece, pull-down menu appears. Click [Set Piece from Contour...] to open the following window. Enter desired information and click [OK].

  12. Add seam allowance.

    Select the desired segment in the pattern piece. Select tool-seam_allowance. Click the segment. Enter value.
