Pants

The below steps are detailed for the V6.0 version. If you are using V7.0, the steps will be slightly different.

1. Draw two rectangles with length values of front hip, back hip and pants.

   Select , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, left-click desired area, enter value in the dialog box, remember to check the item “Internal Segments”, click “OK” .

   
   
   

2. Draw a parallel line (crotch line) 24cm from the waist line.

   Use to select waist line, choose , click inside the rectangle, enter value 24 cm, click “OK”.

   

   Select , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, left click point A (B), enter the value as the below picture shows, draw out segments from A point and B point.

   
   
   

3. Draw a parallel line (hip line) 20cm from the waist line.

   Use to select waist line, choose , click inside the rectangle, enter 20 cm in the dialog box, click “OK”.

   
   
   

4. Draw a parallel line (knee) 57cm from the waist line for front and back pieces.

   Use to select waist line, choose , click inside the rectangle, enter 57 cm in the dialog box, click “OK”.

   
   
   

5. Draw the fold line.

   Use to select the crotch line, choose , left click the selected line, enter 2 in the dialog box to divide the line into two parts.

   

   Hold down the Shift key, and use to select the rectangle, choose , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, left-click Point A (B), enter value as follows, to draw out point A1(B1)and A2(B2).

   

   Use , click any segment of the piece to activate the front (back) piece, select , left click point A1(B1)and then left click point A(B) to create line A1A (B1B), use the same method to create AA2,B1B, BB2 lines.

   Select , left click the to add crosspoints where the red arrows point.

   
   
   

6. Draw waist point on side seam. Connect waist point on side seam with hip point on side seam.

   Use to select the waist line, choose , left-click Point A (B), enter value in the dialog box.

   

   Select , left click three points from point A(C) one bye one as the below red arrows point, to create rid line AB (CD).

   
   
   

7. Draw the front waist and front crotch.

   Select , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, left-click Point A, enter value in the dialog box.

   Use to select the hip line, choose , left-click Point B, enter value in the dialog box.

   

   Select , left click poin A and then point B to create AB segment, use the same mathod to create BC segment and CD segment.

   Select , left click segment AB (hold on and do not release) and drag the segment to cruve shape as the below picture shows, use the same mathod to cruve segment CD.

   
   
   

8. Draw the back waist and back crotch.

   Select , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), left click point A (B), enter values in the dialog box as follows.

   

   Select , left click poin A and then point C to create AC segment, use the same mathod to create AD segment and DB segment.

   Select , left click segment AC (hold on and do not release) and drag the segment to cruve shape as the below picture shows, use the same mathod to cruve segment DB.

   
   
   

9. Hlod down the Shift key, use tool to select 1,2,3,4 segment, press Delete (Mac) or Backspace (Windows) key to remove them.

   
   
   

10. Modify the width of knee and cuff in front piece, and connect knee and cuff with outer side seam line and inner side seam line.

    Use to select AA1 (AA2) segment, click , left-click Point A, enter value in the dialog box.

    Use to select BB1 (BB2) segment, click ，left-click Point B, enter value in the dialog box.

    

    Select , left click poin A and then point B to create AB segment, use the same mathod to create BC, DE, EF, FG segment.

    Select , left click segment AB (hold on and do not release) and drag the segment to cruve shape as the below picture shows, use the same mathod to cruve segment EF.

    
    
    

11. Modify the width of knee and cuff in back piece, and connect knee and cuff with outer side seam line and inner side seam line.

    Use to select AA1 (AA2) segment, click , left-click Point A, enter value in the dialog box.

    Use to select BB1 (BB2) segment, click ，left-click Point B, enter value in the dialog box.

    

    Select , left click poin A and then point B to create AB segment, use the same mathod to create BC, CD, EF, FG segment.

    

    Use to select BC segment, select , left click the selected segment, enter “2” to devide the segment into 2 equal parts.

    Select , left click segment BH (hold on and do not release) and drag the segment to cruve shape as the below picture shows, use the same mathod to cruve segment HC and EF.

    
    
    

12. Hold down the Shift key, use to select the redundant points and segments, press Delete (Mac) or Backspace (Windows) key to remove them.

    
    
    

13. Draw the segment where the dart is located in the front piece.

    Use to select front waist line, choose , left-click Point A. Enter value.

    

    Use to select , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, left-click Point B. Enter value.

    

    Use to select BB1 line , choose , left-click Point B. Enter value.

    

    Select , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, left-click Point C. Enter value.

    
    
    

14. Draw the segment where the dart is located in the back piece.

    Use to select back waist line, select to divide the waist line into two part.

    

    Select , hold down Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, left-click Point A. Enter value.

    
    
    

15. Selct front piece, click menu [Treatment] - [Pathfinder] - [Create Outlines]. Repeat the former operation for the back piece.

    
    
    

16. Develop a dart by using Dart tool.

    Use to select the center segment of the dart, select , click the dart point of the segment. Dialog box appears. Enter value.

    
    
    

17. Modify the segments by using Segment Sync tool.

    Use to select the red lines and dart. Select . Click Point A. After modifying the segments, right click once. Repeat the former operation for the back piece.

    
    
    

    Use to select the red segment. Select , click Point A then Point B. After modifying the segment, right click once. Repeat the operation for the cuff and crotch segments.

    
    
    

18. Check the length of the pieces by using Walking Piece.

    Use to select the side seams from front piece and back piece. Select . Click Point A then B. A dialog box appears after simulating sewing. Double click the value to change. Then click [OK]. Repeat the former operation for the inner side seam.

    
    
    

19. Set pattern piece.

    Right-click the piece, a pull-down menu appears. Click [Set Piece From Contour] to open the window, enter desired information as the below picture shows and click [OK].

    
    
    

20. Add seam allowance.

    Select the desired segments in the pattern piece. Select . Click the selected segment. Enter value.
